Deepesh Faucheux: Body meets Mind

Emotions Are Here to Stay. And, They are Impermanent.

This workshop focuses on Emotions, especially fear.

We live in a time of volatile emotions: gnawing fear and extreme, often explosive anger. It affects all areas of our life from our work, to our neighborhoods, to our relationships. How can we deal skillfully with fear, in ourselves, in our clients?  What kind of attitude best enables us to embrace and live with our emotions and continue to be happy? How can we help our mind and our values come into harmony with our emotion and truly enjoy the energy that emotional intelligence can bring into our lives? The secret, perhaps, according to contemporary teachers, psychologists and neuroscientists lies in our ability to LET GO.

In this class, using meditations, experiential exercises, interactive teachings, good humor and a playful disposition, we will explore the options that help us:

  • Remain openhearted, joyful, fresh and caring even when we are under stress;
  • Embrace our loved ones and our community and take in the support they provide;
  • Work creatively with old behavior patterns that only make the situation worse;
  • Break old habit patterns and form new ones;
  • Access our inner resources, our self-confidence, our capacity for tenderness;
  • Connect with our fearlessness;
  • See and utilize painful times as opportunities for personal and spiritual growth;

Discover, once and for all that our higher self, our true nature is always awake, always wise and fundamentally good, no matter what goes on outside of us. Remember, “that part of us which can observe pain is not in pain; that which witnesses anger is not itself angry.”

Deepesh Faucheux, veteran therapist and workshop leader, adjunct professor of Psychology at Naropa University, and good friend of many who have visited Grasellenbach, will facilitate this class.
